In just a few hours you can go from the snowy heights of Mount Hermon to the arid Judean Desert and the lowest point on earth, while exploring ancient biblical cities, colourful covered street markets and a high-rise metropolis.
Day 1 Wednesday
Arrive Tel Aviv / Jerusalem
Your tour starts on arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, where you will be met and taken to your hotel in Jerusalemransferred to your hotel for the next four enchanting nights. (D)
Day 2 Thursday
Jerusalem – Old City
Today you will be met and taken to Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of the city. You will also visit the church of All Nations, King David’s tomb and the room of the Last Supper on Mr Zion before you will enter the walls of the city and visit Cardo, Temple Mount (entrance to the Mosques not included), Western Wall, Via Dolorosa, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Oriental Bazaar. Your last stop will be at the Garden Tomb before returning to your hotel. (BD)
Day 3 Friday
Jerusalem – New City and Bethlehem
Today you will be taken to Ein Karem to visit the Church of Visitation before proceeding to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Memorial Site. Your tour includes a visit to the Israel Museum, the Shrine of the Book, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed and the miniature model of Jerusalem as it was during the second temple period. You will then proceed to Bethlehem* to visit the Church of Nativity (*visit is subject to security conditions). (BD)
Day 4 Saturday
Jerusalem – Dead Sea and Masada
Your tour today includes a drive to Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Visit the ancient city of Qumran and drive along the shore of the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth, to Masada, the last stronghold of the Jews following destruction of the second temple in 70 A.D. You ascend Mt Masada by cable car and visit the food storeroom, water irrigation system and Herod’s Palace. Time and weather permitting, opportunity will be provided to float in the Dead Sea. (BD)
Day 5 Sunday
Jerusalem / Beit Shean / Nazareth / Galilee
Depart Jerusalem and drive via the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean, a newly excavated city and visit the Roman Theatre. Your drive continues to Yardenit, the baptismal site on the Jordan River before continuing to Nazareth via Cana of Galilee. Here you visit the Church of Annunciation, St Joseph’s workshop and Mary’s Well. (BD)
Day 6 Monday
Galilee – Tiberiuas, Capernaum and Banias
After a short tour of Tiberias, you take a boat ride to Capernaum where you visit the remains of the second century synagogue. Proceed to Tabgha, the site of the miracle of fish and loaves and visit the Church of Multiplication with its fourth century mosaic floor. Continue to Mount of Beatitudes, the place where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Before returning to your hotel you drive to Banias Springs and waterfalls and tour the Golan Heights. (BD)
Day 7 Tuesday
Galilee / Acre / Haifa / Megiddo / Caesarea / Tel Aviv
You drive to Acre to visit the ancient city and harbour before continuaing to Haifa for a panoramic view of the Bahai gardens adn Haifa Bay. You continue to Megiddo, identied as the site of Armageddon to visit the archeological excavations including the well-preserved water supply system. Drive to Caesarea, the capital of Judea under the Romans where you will visit the ancient city, the Roman Theatre and aqueduct. Your drive will take you along the coastal plain of Tel Aviv. (BD)
Day 8 Wednesday
Depart Tel Aviv
Today you will say farewell to Israel when you transfer to Ben Gurion Airport. (B)
