Tsavo & Amboseli Safari (6 days)6 days duration
On arrival in Mombasa you are met and taken to your hotel for tonight. You have the afternoon at leisure to relax and enjoy this exotic coastal city, with its rich history. (D)
After breakfast you depart from the coast as you are driven to your lodge in Tsavo West National Park. In contrast to the open plains of Maasai Mara and Amboseli, Tsavo West consists mainly of bush which can make finding animals more difficult. The advantage of visiting is that it is home to a number of animals and birds which aren't found in other areas of Kenya and Tanzania. This afternoon you have your first safari. (BLD)
Today is spent exploring the park morning and afternoon with your local guide. You visit the Mzima Springs with its underwater observation tank during one of the drives. You may see a Hippo or two as they move around under the water. (BLD)
This morning you are taken by road to your lodge, nestled in the Kilimanjaro Foothills of Amboseli, for the next two nights. If you have ever seen a picture of Kilimanjaro with an elephant in the foreground, this is where it was taken! There will be a game viewing activity this afternoon before you settle down for your evening meal. (BLD)
The name Amboseli means "place of water" in the language of the Maasai and despite its sometimes dry and dusty appearance, it actually has an endless water supply filtered through thousands of metres of volcanic rock from Mount Kilimanjaro's snow melt. Your day will be filled with fame viewing activities as you explore Amboseli National Park, with its variety of game. (BLD)
Following breakfast you say farewell to the national park, as you are taken by road to Nairobi. On arrival your Tsavo & Amboseli Safari comes to and end. (B)
