San Rafael Glacier Cruise - Chonos Route (6 days)

6 days duration

Day 1 Saturday
  Puerto Montt / Chiloe

This morning you will board your cruise ship and set sail from Chinquihue, near Puerto Montt. You start by sailing through the Llanquihue Archipelago, the Gulf of Ancud and the Chiloe Archipelago, crossing the Gulf of Corcovado. (LD)

Day 2 Sunday
  Chiloe / San Rafael Glacier

Today your cruise vessel will navigate its way through the Moraleda and Ferronave Channels, until you arrive at Puerto Aguirre, a remote fishing village. From here you continue sailing through the Ferronave, Pilcomayo and Costa Channels, finally arriving at Hualas Cove or Punta Leopardos where your cruise ship will drop anchor, approximately 20 nautical miles for the San Rafael Glacier. (BLD)

Day 3 Monday
  San Rafael Glacier

This morning you travel through the San Rafael Bay, the Tempanos Channel and Lagoon, until you reach the large mass of glacial ice, which makes up San Rafael. From here you make excursions in smaller motorboats between the various multi-coloured icebergs, which before crashing into the water, formed part of the San Rafael Glacier. Later in the day, your cruise vessel will move even closer to the almighty San Rafael Glacier, before a late departure for the Quitralco Fjord. (BLD)

Day 4 Tuesday
  Quitralco Fjord / Chiloe

Today your cruise vessel enters the Quitralco Fjord, where you have the opportunity to bathe in fantastic thermal pools. You will also have the choice of activities such as walks and motorboat fjord excursions. In the evening your cruise will depart for Chiloe, sailing through the Moraleda and Perez Norte Channels. (BLD)

Day 5 Wednesday
  Chiloe / Castro

This morning we cross the Corcovado Gulf where, if the conditions allow, there is a possibility of watching humpback whales and blue whales.  Hugging the eastern coast of Chiloe Island, we sail north through the Yal Channel and up the Castro Estuary to port in the quaint little city of Castro which you will have time to explore. This evening we set sail towards Puerto Montt through the Lemuy, Dalcahue and Quicavi Channels whilst enjoying the Farewell Captain’s dinner and dance. (BLD)

Day 6 Thursday
  Castro / Puerto Montt

This morning after breakfast you will disembark and be transferred to your hotel in Puerto Montt or to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
