San Rafael Glacier Cruise (7 days)7 days duration
This morning you will board your cruise ship and set sail from Chinquihue, near Puerto Montt. You start by sailing through the Llanquihue Archipelago, the Gulf of Ancud and the Chiloe Archipelago, crossing the Gulf of Corcovado. (LD)
Today your cruise vessel will navigate its way through the Moraleda and Ferronave Channels, until you arrive at Puerto Aguirre, a remote fishing village. From here you sail through the Guaitecas Archipelago; the Ferronave and Pilcomayo Channels; the Costa Channel; and finally, the Elefantes Fjord, where your cruise ship will drop anchors. (BLD)
This morning you travel through the San Rafael Bay, the Tempanos Channel and Lagoon, until you reach teh large mass of glacial ice, which makes up San Rafael. From here you make excursions in smaller motorboats between the various multi-coloured icebergs, which before crashing into the water, formed part of the San Rafael Glacier. Later in the day, your cruise vessel will move even closer to the almighty San Rafael Glacier, before a late departure for the Quitralco Fjord. (BLD)
Today your cruise vessel enters the Quitralco Fjord, where you have the opportunity to bathe in fantastic thermal pools. You will also have the choice of activities such as walks and motorboat fjord excursions. In the evening your cruise will depart for Chiloe, sailing through the Moraleda and Perez Norte Channels. This morning you will sail through the Leucayec Channel and see the Island of Melinka, in the Los Chronos Archipelago. Your cruise ship then crosses the Corcovado Gulf and hugs the eastern coast of Chiloe as it sails further north. Here you may make an optional landing at Queilen before sailing through the Yal Channel and up the Castro Estuary to port in the quaint little city of Castro. (BLD)

Castro was founded in 1567 and is the capital of the island of Chiloe. Points worth visiting include the Cathedral, the museum and the native handicraft market. Your journey back to Puerto Montt takes you through the Channels of Lemuy, Dalcahue, Quicavi and Calbuco, all places of great historical and natural interest. Tonight, after arriving at Chinquihue, you will enjoy a Gala Dinner to celebrate the completion of your Chilean Fjords Cruise. (BLD)
