The Blyde River Panorama Route is world renowned for its sweeping beauty and scenic views. It is where the "highveld" grasslands descend down the Drakensberg Escarpment to the bushland of the "lowveld" with Kruger National Park and Mozambique in the distance. The Blyde River Canyon drops a thousand metres into the heavily wooded valley below, which appears to stretch forever. This will offer absolutely stunning views from such lookouts as God's Window, Wonder View, The Pinnacle and The Three Rondavels. You also visit the Bourke's Luck Potholes - deep cylindrical cavities formed by river erosion. Continuing on to the historic town of Pilgrim's Rest, born during the excitement of the alluvial gold rush and now a National Monument, you have the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere of the old Colonial days. (BL)
This morning you are taken to Kruger Mpumalanga Airport where you board your flight to Livingstone in Zambia. After clearing customs and immigration you are met and taken to your lodge or hotel for a two-night stay. The remainder of the day is at leisure. In the afternoon you undertake a 'sundowner' cruise on the upper Zambezi River during which you have a chance of seeing elephant, crocodiles and hippos. (B)
Following breakfast you are taken on a tour of the Victoria Falls during which you get to see them from the Zambian side. Later you visit the Mukuni Village, home to the Leya people. The remainder of your day is at leisure. There are a number of optional activites you may wish to undertake such as a helicopter flight over the falls. These involve an additional cost. (B)
After breakfast you are taken to Livingstone Airport where your tour ends. (B)
