Your tour starts on arrival at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport where you are met and taken to your hotel near Pretoria for the night.

Pretoria / Blyde River |
Today we depart after breakfast as we are driven across the highland grasslands of the South African interior to the rugged escarpment where the highland descend to the fertile, semi tropical lowlands. Here we visit historic mining town of Pilgrim’s Rest. The historic town of Pilgrim’s Rest – born during the excitement of the alluvial gold rush and now a National Monument, you have the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere of the old Colonial days. Blyde River / Kruger National Park |
On our way to the Kruger National Park, we stop at the Blyde River Canyon. The Blyde River Canyon drops a thousand metres into the heavily wooded valley below, which appears to stretch forever. This will offer you absolutely stunning views of The Three Rondavels. You also visit the Bourke’s Luck Potholes – deep cylindrical cavities formed by river erosion before arriving at the Kruger Park in the afternoon. The Kruger Park is the largest game reserve in South Africa, is home to the Big Five ‘Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo), as well as numerous other species of fauna and flora. (B)

We undertake early morning and late afternoon game drives in search of the various animals inhabiting the Park. Optional night drive or game walk (own expense). (B)

Today we depart and head for the Mlilwane Game Reserve, one of the Royal Reserves and part of the kingdom’s commitment to wildlife preservation. Optional excursions guided walk, mountain biking and horse trails in the Reserve (own expense). (B)

Swaziland / Zululand |
We continue our journey across Swaziland and enter the part of South Africa known as Zululand. (B)
From our base in Zululand, rich in both cultural history and wildlife, we undertake a game drive in Hluhluwe/Imfolozi Game Reserve, famous for its contributions to saving the endangered rhino. A cultural visit to a local village is also included in the activities for today. (B)

Departing after breakfast we follow the Indian Ocean coastline through KwaZulu-Natal. Our arrival at Oribi Gorge in the early afternoon, allows us time to view the gorge. (B)

Oribi Gorge / Transkei (Coffee Bay) |
The Transkei is the birthplace of former president Nelson Mandela. It is well known for its stunning coastline, lush subtropical vegetation, unspoilt beaches and relaxed atmosphere. (BD)

A full day is available for scenic walks or to simply relax on the beach. (BD)

We continue our journey down the coast. Found in the Sundays River Valley near the Zuurberg Range, the park is home to large herds of elephant, lion and numerous antelope species. (B)

Today we enjoy a game drive and the have the opportunity for an optional Elephant-back safari (own expense). (B)

Following the coastline we explore the famous Garden Route, situated between the forests of the Tsitsikamma and the winelands of the Western Cape. (B)
A full day is available to explore this charming town or a variety of optional activities (own expense) including whale watching (in season) & scenic walks. (B)

Today we head inland to Oudtshoorn via the Outeniqua Pass. Here we enjoy fascinating guided tours of an Ostrich Farm and the famous Cango Caves. (B)

Oudtshoorn / Cape Town |
Our journey takes us through a picturesque fruit and wine growing valley known as the longest wine route in the world, “Route 62”. We visit a wine farm for wine tasting arriving in Cape Town in the late afternoon. (B)
Today we undertake a full day Peninsular Tour. Driving along the Atlantic Seaboard via Hout Bay and Chapman’s Peak, we visit the Cape Point Nature Reserve returning to our hotel via the Indian Ocean Coastline. A morning or afternoon cable car ascent up Table Mountain is included (weather permitting). (B)

Your memorable tour comes to an end today as you are taken to the airport after breakfast. There are good connections for flights home or alternatively, you can continue on with another tour option. (B)
FREE PRE-TOUR EXTENSION
The pre-tour to Victoria Falls is FREE when booked in conjunction with and when taken directly before the Johannesburg to Cape Tour. It is subject to flight class and hotel availability and may be withdrawn at any point prior to confirmed bookings and deposits having been received. If the package is not available for whatever reason then the maximum compensation in lieu is A$750 per person. It is possible to swap this tour for a 3 day tour to Livingstone on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls for a surcharge.

This morning you make your way to Johannesburg Airport for your flight to Victoria Falls. On arrival and after clearing Customs and Immigration you are met and taken to your hotel for the night.

After breakfast we are taken on a guided tour of the Victoria Falls, one of the Natural Wonders of the World (Entrance fee not included). This leisurely walking safari takes us through the magnificent rainforest surrounding the falls to where we can view the many cataracts, Livingstone’s Statue and a wide variety of birds and plants along the way. Following the tour we return to our hotel. In the afternoon you are taken for a sunset cruise on the upper Zambezi River. (B)

Later this morning we are collected from our hotel and taken to Victoria Falls Airport for our flight to Johannesburg. On arrival in Johannesburg you begin with Day 1 of the main tour above. (B)
