Corbett National Park was India’s first national park and tiger reserve, founded in 1936. It has a diverse topography with savannah grasslands, deep gorges, rolling hills and thick forest cover. The park provides an opportunity to see a large variety of animals, which includes the elusive Tiger. There are also a substantial number of bird species to be found, over 600.

As you drive through the reserve in your safari vehicles you may be surprised to hear the crowing of roosters and see them running around until you realise that these are the wild ancestors of the common chicken. Chital Deer and Wild Boar are also relatively common.

You will undertake an early morning and an afternoon safari into the park to try and find the various treasures the park holds. (BLD)
