Gorillas, Chimps & More (9 days)9 days duration
On arrival at Entebbe Airport in Uganda, you will be met and taken to your hotel located on the shores of Lake Victoria. (D)
After breakfast you are driven to Kibale National Park in western Uganda. Arriving late in the afternoon, you will be transferred to your lodge for the night. (BLD)
Today you leave for the Kibale forest, renowned for having the greatest variety and the highest concentration for primates in East Africa. On arrival you are taken on a guided nature walk in the tropical forest in search of the wild chimpanzees and other wildlife. Following this walk you depart for Myewa in Queen Elizabeth National Park. (BLD)
This morning you will be taken on a comprehensive game drive into the park surrounding the lodge. You should see Warthog, Bushbuck, Waterbuck, Uganda Kob and Elephant as well as a have a chance to see Hyena, Lion and Leopard.
After the game drive you visit the fishing village of Kasenyi and salt works. Both are in Queen Elizabeth National Park and have been developed by the local communities. Your guide will explain the conversation policies and the relationship between the park and local communities. This afternoon you take a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel followed by a late afternoon game drive. (BLD)
Today is spent undertaking game viewing activities in various parts of the park, finding new and unusual birds and animals to add to what should already be an impressive list of species seen. (BLD)
You have an early morning drive to the Kyambura Wildlife Reserve where, on arrival, the rangers take you into the gorge to look for the chimpanzees. This nature walk takes a few hours. Following lunch you head to Buhoma (Bwindi) where you arrive in the late afternoon for your two-night lodge stay. (BLD)
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a Natural World Heritage Site. Hikers love it, with the Gorilla excursion a high point of your safari! Gorilla trekking is quite unpredictable. It is difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike. Expect to walk for some time in sometimes steep and muddy conditions, before you encounter any gorillas. On your return you are entertained by children at a nearby village with their traditional Bakiga dances. (BLD)
After breakfast you depart for your hotel in Entebbe, arriving late today. (BL)
Today you will be transferred to the airport, where the tour comes to an end. (B)
