Galapagos Islands Cruise (7 days)

These enchanting islands are a paradise of many species of flora and fauna and lie on the Equator 1,000 km from Ecuador. An archipelago of 13 large islands, 6 small ones and 40 rocky islets, they were created by violent eruptions of submerged volcanoes. The archipelago is the most famous National Park in the world and takes its name from its symbol, the tortoise.


The M/V Coral I is a first-class motor yacht with a capacity for 22 guests. The ship has a crew of 10 plus a specialist naturalist gide and is fitted with the latest navigational equipment, all complying with international maritime safety regulations. There are two sun decks, an interior dining area, a well equipped bar and a small library.
 

Day 1 Arrive Quito
 
On arrival into Quito, the capital of Ecuador, you will be met and taken to your luxury hotel where you stay for tonight.

Quito is officially a World Cultural Heritage site, thus allowing its architectural, artistic and cultural treasures to be preserved.
 
Day 2 Quito / Galapagos Islands Cruise - Santa Cruz Island
 
This morning you are transferred back to the airport for your flight to the Galapagos Islands. On arrival you will be met and assisted to board the M/V Coral I for you four-night cruise of this remarkable archipelago.

This afternoon you visit the second largest and most populated of the islands, Santa Cruz, with its most diverse landscape, vegetation, plant and animal life.

You will also be taken to visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, a sanctuary for the breeding of giant tortoises and a centre of scientific investigation. (BLD)
 
Day 3 Galapagos Islands Cruise - Espanola Island
 
Today you will marvel at the beautiful white beach of Espanola Island. You can see its famous blowhole and one of the most varied seabird colonies on the islands. There are blue-footed and masked boobies, sea lions, marine iguanas, Galapagos hawks, oyster-catchers, wood mockingbirds, the large cactus finch and the waved albatross. (BLD)
 
Day 4 Galapagos Islands Cruise - San Cristobal Island
 
Today you visit San Cristobal, a large island of 585 square km, the capital of the Galapagos Islands and the only place where you can observe both species of frigate bird nesting alongside each other.

Later you will see the remarkable natural formation of Kicker Rock, where blue-footed boobies nest and sea lions frolic in the surf. You will also see Punta Pitt and the Research Station at Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. (BLD)
 
Day 5 Galapagos Islands Cruise - North Seymour Island
 
Today you will visit North Seymour Island, a small 1.9 square km island which has large colonies of sea lions, red pouched frigate birds, blue-footed boobies and mockingbirds. (BLD)   
 
Day 6 Galapagos Islands Cruise - Baltra Island / Quito
 
Today you will visit Baltra Island, with great numbers of sea lions sprawling among nesting lava gulls on a sandpit between it and North Seymour.

Later you are taken to the airport for your flight to Quito. On arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel for tonight. (B

Day 7 Depart Quito
 
Today you will be transferred to Quito Airport to join your onward flight. (B)
