Best of Malawi & Zambia (8 days)

Explore the highlights of Lake Malawi, an unknown treasure in the heart of Africa, before ending your safari with South Luangwa National Park, Zambia.

 
Day 1 Arrive Lilongwe / Lake Malawi
 
Your tour begin on arrival at Lilongwe Airport where you are met and taken to your chosen lodge. Depending on your choice, you are either taken by road to Cape Maclear at the bottom end of Lake Malawi or flown by light aircraft to your lodge on Likomo Island. On arrival you are made welcome for an exotic three-night stay. (D)
 
Day 2-3 Lake Malawi
 
You spend these days relaxing at the lodge and undertaking a range of activities on offer. Lake Malawi National Park is probably Africa's most important freshwater fish sanctuary, protecting a diversity of endemic tropical species (Cyclids). Scuba diving (optional) and snorkelling in this tropical paradise are popular, as well as swimming or exploring the island's surroundings on foot. (BLD)  
 
Day 4 Lake Malawi / Luangwa Valley
 
This morning you are either flown or taken by road to Lilongwe Airport where you firstly clear Customs and Immigration. You then undertake a light aircraft flight to Mfuwe International Airport adjacent to South Luangwa National Park, Zambia. Here you are met by your guide and driven to your lodge located on the banks of the Luangwa River. Here you have a wonderful wildlife filled four-night stay. (BD)   
 
Day 5-7 South Luangwa National Park
 
These days will be spent enjoying the wildlife of the Luangwa Valley in open 4 x 4 safari vehicles by day and at night, as well as undertaking various walking safaris. Wildlife highlights in the Luangwa include most of the big game: Elephant, Lion, Buffalo and in particular, Leopard! (BLD)
 
Day 8 Luangwa Valley / Depart Lusaka
 
Following breakfast you are taken back to Mfuwe Airport for your flight to Lusaka, where on arrival your Best of Malawi & Zambia tour comes to an end. (B)
