Best of Kenya Safari (9 days)9 days duration
On arrival into Nairobi International Airport you are met and taken to your hotel for the night.
Following breakfast you are taken through Central Kenya and north across the equator to Samburu National Reserve, arriving at your lodge in time for lunch. Later you undertake an afternoon game drive before returning to the lodge for dinner. (BLD)
You spend today exploring Samburu, with an early morning and late afternoon game drive. Samburu is beautiful and home to rarely found species such as the Beisa Oryx, Grevy's zebra, blue-necked Somali ostrich and Reticulated Giraffe. During the day you also visit a local Samburu village. (BLD)
Departing from Samburu after breakfast, you are taken to the lower slopes of Mt Kenya, arriving at your lodge in time for lunch. You spend the afternoon relaxing as you watch game from the balcony. Your lodge has a floodlit waterhole which allows the opportunity of seeing elusive noctural animals as they drink at night. (BLD)
Following breakfast you are taken to Lake Nakuru National Park on the floor of the Rift Valley, making a brief stop at Nyahururu Thomson Falls on the way. In the afternoon you undertake a game drive. Besides the pink flamingos, for which the lake is famous, there are roughly 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. In addition, many species of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild's giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game. Today you are driven further along the floor of the Rift Valley to Masai Mara Game Reserve. After time to relax, you undertake a game drive. (BLD)
You spend the day in Masai Mara, Kenya's most popular game sanctuary where you have the best opportunity of spotting some of the "Big 5": Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Elephant. Game drives are flexible, with the option of taking picnic lunch boxes and spending the entire day in the park or alternatively, you can choose to have early morning and late afternoon game drives. You also visit a local Masai Village. (BLD)
Following an early morning game drive, you are taken to Nairobi for the night. (B)
Following breakfast today you are taken to Nairobi Airport where your tour comes to an end. (B)
