9 days duration

Day 1 Monday
Arrive Belo Horizonte / Ouro Preto

Your Experience Tour starts on arrival into Belo Horizonte Airport, where you will be met and transferred by road to your hotel in Ouro Preto for two nights

Ouro Preto is a city that showcases history while maintaining relevance with the modern world. It is considered the most important historical city in Brazil. Some of its historical features include the Casa dos Contos, 13 Colonial churches, the Palace of the Governors and the School of Engineering. The famous Grande Hotel de Ouro Preto is a contrast with the historical and baroque atmosphere of the city.

Day 2 Tuesday
  Ouro Preto

This morning you will be taken on a city and sightseeing tour of Ouro Preto, a place of numerous attractions, its history and culture touching and charming all those who visit. The locals here perpetuate the meaning of hospitality with the same ardour that they protect their past. (B)

Day 3 Wednesday
Ouro Preto / Belo Horizonte / Salvador

This morning you will be transferred back to Belo Horizonte Airport for your flight to Salvador (Brazil), where on arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel for two fabulous nights.

This afternoon you will be taken on a city tour of Salvador (often simply referred to as “Bahia”), an enchanted land where the sun, the beaches and the coconut groves create a balance in scenery. It is one of the most popular destinations for Brazilians and foreigners alike. (B)

Day 4 Thursday
  Salvador

Today is entirely at leisure in Salvador, which not only has a rich cultural and historical heritage, but also natural resources, tropical beaches and the most varied ecosystems and landscapes. It is difficult to highlight the attractions of “Bahia”, as there are simply so many! (B)

Day 5 Friday
  Salvador / Fortaleza

This morning you will be transferred to Salvador Airport for your flight to Fortaleza, where on arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel for two nights

This afternoon you will be taken on a tour, which includes the most important sights of Fortaleza, colonised in 1612 by the Portuguese and officially founded in 1826

The tour visits Sao Sebastiao, the small Portuguese fort as well as a number of squares, monuments and buildings which trace the history of the city. The tour also visits the newer parts of the city: Avenida Beira Mar, the port of the Jangadas with the statue of Iracema, the Future Beach, Aldeota, the noble area of the city and the ornate Mausoleum of President Castelo Branco. This morning you will be transferred back to Fortaleza Airport for your flight to Manaus, deep in the Amazon Basin. On arrival into this Amazon "jungle city" and the capital of Amazonas State, you will be met and taken to your hotel for a two-night stay.

Manaus is located in the centre of the Amazon Rainforest and at the end of the 19th Century was considered the world’s most cut-off city, partly because it could only be reached by boat!

This afternoon you will be taken on a city tour of Manaus, including the Opera House (the Teatro Amazonas), bearing witness to a remarkable, not-so-distant Colonial past. You will also see Customs House, built from stone imported from Portugal and the City Cathedral. (B
